Join DaNel Hogan for this interactive, virtual (Zoom) braided STEM workshop designed to empower PreK-high school educators to weave connection circles and causal loop diagrams into their STEM instruction, helping students visualize relationships and understand cause-and-effect patterns in complex systems. You'll explore how these systems thinking tools can transform the way students approach problems in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, making models for abstract concepts more concrete and interconnected. Using picture books and scientific phenomena that span all age groups, we'll demonstrate practical applications and provide you with immediately usable examples for your classroom. This workshop stands alone, so no previous systems thinking experience is necessary, and educators who joined our Arizona STEM Acceleration Project cohorts last year will discover new examples and fresh perspectives on using these valuable tools. Participation is free, making this an accessible opportunity to expand your teaching toolkit with research-based strategies.
